Easing into a Morning Routine

I am personally trying to ease into a morning routine, mindfully. I fell off track. Life it happens and it threw me for a loop.

I have always heard the first waking hour sets the tone for your day. Makes sense, because when my morning is chaotic it definitely throws off my day

But, every sunrise is an opportunity to start fresh. My focus or goal is to be more focused and to make better use of my time.

The following are a few things I am working on.

  1. Forgetting my phone, meaning, not starting my day by checking emails, social media etc. I am giving myself 30-60 mins of phone free time upon waking.
  2. Hydrating with water maybe with some lemon juice. Honestly this I do all the time.
  3. Adding some gentle movement to my mornings, whatever my body craves.
  4. Having a morning ritual like reading, listening to some calming tunes sketching etc anything that will allow me to ease into my day.

” Nothing can be done except little by little.” _ Charles Baudelaire

In all things I will give myself some grace because I am not perfect, but I am sure worth it.

Do you have a morning ritual or something you are working on implementing to start your day? Let me know in the comments.

Be well.

Life Happens

We all get sidetracked from our health and fitness goals from time to time, because life just happens. As a fitness professional, I have been there and completely understand.  But instead of beating myself up over it, I have chosen to get back on track.

Here are a few tips that has helped me to refocus:

  1. Figuring out what caused me to drift away from my wellness plan. Was it vacation, injury, sickness or lack of planning.
  2. Planning my workouts for the week.
  3. Just start. It does not have to be a super hard work out, it can be as simple as going for a walk outside.
  4. Implementing good habits daily, and this often starts with a healthy and fulfilling morning routine.  Having a morning ritual sets you up for the day.
  5. Reading and researching  topics on health and fitness.
  6. Forget perfection.
  7. Having positive thoughts and remembering this is self-care.
  8. Never give up.
