Strong and Supported

I am often told by my clients that my teaching style is unique and in the sessions/classes they feel encouraged, strong and capable in doing the exercises. They never feel like they can’t do a particular move or exercise sequence and they always feel better after class.

My goal as an instructor is to “meet” each and every client where they are physically at that given moment.

Every exercise I teach, starts from the “base”, where we start slow and layer on “moves”.

By doing this I am giving each person options in class. I am a firm believer in listening to your body.

Remember, you are strong, your body is amazing and I applaud you all always.

Always cheering you on.

Keep building one another up.

Be kind.

Life Happens

We all get sidetracked from our health and fitness goals from time to time, because life just happens. As a fitness professional, I have been there and completely understand.  But instead of beating myself up over it, I have chosen to get back on track.

Here are a few tips that has helped me to refocus:

  1. Figuring out what caused me to drift away from my wellness plan. Was it vacation, injury, sickness or lack of planning.
  2. Planning my workouts for the week.
  3. Just start. It does not have to be a super hard work out, it can be as simple as going for a walk outside.
  4. Implementing good habits daily, and this often starts with a healthy and fulfilling morning routine.  Having a morning ritual sets you up for the day.
  5. Reading and researching  topics on health and fitness.
  6. Forget perfection.
  7. Having positive thoughts and remembering this is self-care.
  8. Never give up.

Pilates Teacher, Forever a Student

When one teaches, two learn.

Just like in  nutrition no two diets are the same.  A particular way of eating may work for one and not the other. The same is true for each person that  comes to a Pilates session. Everyones body brings something different  to the “table”.   Because we are not all made the same we can’t do all the exercises the same way.

This is one of the many reasons  why I love what I do, I am always  learning from each clients body. The Pilates method of exercise allows me, the instructor  to meet the individual  body where it is at the moment.    This is  teaching with compassion and kindness.

Pilates, movement for life.
